🌦️ Bracing for Cooler Weather and Rain

Dear Street Life Ministries community,

As October brings cooler weather and the promise of rain to the San Francisco Bay Area Peninsula, we’re gearing up for a month filled with activities aimed at making a difference in the lives of our homeless friends. This month’s newsletter has some exciting updates and events, so read on to find out how you can get involved.

Ricky Wade Represents Street Life Ministries at the Recovery Happens Outreach Fair

September was National Recovery Month, and we are proud to share that our Volunteer and Donor Manager, Ricky Wade represented Street Life Ministries at the Recovery Happens Outreach Fair.

This event, held at Coyote Point Park, was a gathering of many organizations with a shared goal: to support each other and those facing life challenges.

Ricky had this to say:

“It was a privilege to be there and to meet new people who are all part of adding more solutions to the ever-growing problems people face everyday. Street Life Ministries was proud to participate.”

Join Us for a Rocking Good Time at the Street Life Ministries Rock Concert!

amplify hope event

Get ready to rock with us at the Odd Fellows Lodge in Redwood City! We’ve got an incredible night of music and fun planned, featuring talented local bands. Enjoy delicious complimentary appetizers and drinks available for purchase, provided by our friends at the local Ghostwood Beer Co.

Every ticket purchased and every donation made will be used to provide life-saving support for those living on the streets. Don’t miss this opportunity to have a great time while making a real difference.

“Street Life Live” Podcast Returns!

We’re excited to announce the return of Pastor David Shearin’s Street Life Ministries podcast series, and this time, it was live on our Facebook page on October 5th! Our previous episodes offered unique insights into the lives and experiences of those in recovery, our dedicated volunteers, individuals facing homelessness, and influential members of our community and we are delighted to be back and sharing these stories with you.

Our first guests were Jeanne Smith and Jerome Madigan, stars of our upcoming Amplify Hope fundraiser and talented musicians. Jeanne and Jerome shared how ministering at Street Life Ministries is a deeply spiritual experience for them, likening it to the biblical story of David playing the harp for King Saul.

Thanks to all of you who joined us live on Facebook for our first live episode. And if you want to see Jeanne and Jerome perform live, be sure to attend our October 21st rock concert in Redwood City!

Free Dental Care Day!

Grace Care’s Day is approaching, and Street Life Ministries wants to inform the community about this important opportunity to receive free dental care for underserved individuals.

Both the general and pediatric offices will be participating this year on Wednesday, October 25th. If anyone could benefit from this service, they are encouraged not to hesitate and should contact Grace Dental in Menlo Park. Space is limited, so reservations can be made via call or email. For more information and to make a reservation, individuals can visit the website at gracedentalfamily.com. Participation can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.

As the weather turns colder, we invite you to join us in our mission to provide warmth and support to those in need. Consider donating unwanted warm clothing to our drop-off locations, and remember that every small action can make a big difference in the lives of our homeless friends.

Vicky Lanzone

Hi everyone!
As you may have heard I co-wrote a book with my friend Jamie Blaine. It’s called Life is Crazy and We’re all Going to Die-A Book About Hope in Strange Places. Available on Amazon, .99 for the Kindle and just 13.99 for the paperback.

Finally, a book about God and life for regular, messy misfit people. (like you & me).
Thank you for your support!
Much Love,
Vicky
