CHURCHES AND VOLUNTEERS
On Monday, April 3rd, Street Life Ministries (SLM) was presented the “Welcoming Star Award” by the Redwood City Council. This award recognized Street Life Ministries as an organization that respects and values the lives of those within the Redwood City community. With humility, I accepted the award, knowing that the success of SLM has been a product of prayer and faithful giving of time and financial resources by many churches and volunteers like you over the years.
With your help, SLM has been making an impact with the economically disadvantaged for over fifteen years. SLM, not only has supported our brothers and sisters on the street with food, shelter and clothing, but more importantly, with soul-food, as each year we have seen more and more of our friends accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. This award is a reminder that God is truly at work, as SLM is also having an impact on city officials, police officers, business owners and people within the community – those serving, as well as those being served.
Being the Pastor of this Ministry brings joy to my heart and words cannot express how much it means to me to know that you feel the same way about our loved ones living on the streets. Please share this award with your church congregation and fellow volunteers and remind them that they played an integral part in this honor, but more importantly, in bringing salvation to many who felt unloved.
I want you all to know that I walk around feeling God’s love, knowing that I have you all to thank for the great impact that SLM is making along the Peninsula. Please know I truly love you and I am honored to have all of you in my life.
