The total number of homeless people in our County on the day of the 2017 count was found to be 1,253, which included 637 unsheltered people and 616 people in shelters. For the unsheltered population, there was a decrease of 18% from the 2015 count to the 2017 count.
The One Day Count is only one piece of data that is used to inform our local planning of homeless services. We work with our providers, partners, County colleagues and the community on an ongoing basis to review data, trends and other information to help inform our planning. We look forward to continuing the collaborative implementation of our strategic plan to work towards ensuring that homelessness is rare, brief and non-recurring.
